Heritage on a Plate

Enjoy Delicious Penang Street Food, Discover Hidden History & Experience More With Our Food Tours

Heritage on a Plate offers an exploration of Penang food, history and culture. Each session is hosted by an individual or individuals whom have demonstrated knowledge in several or certain aspects of food history, culture and more. We practice responsibility and sensitivity of local practices, customs and traditions. We strive to provide an experience for customers that is authentic and reflective of local life. We consider this an interactive exploration through a living city that operates on it's own schedule, routine and traditions. Experiences may vary depending on availability of dishes, vendors, hosts and participation of guests.

1. Bookings, Cancellations and No-Shows

Your HOP session is booked and confirmed once we have acknowledged your HOP request, and you have provided the necessary information and completed the PayPal booking transaction. Instructions for booking your HOP are available via email when you complete the Contact Us form

For last minute bookings (within 48-hours) please contact us via phone to check availability. If a HOP session is available your details such as name, email and phone number may be required to book your HOP. We will not share this information with any third-parties.

Please arrive for your selected HOP session at least 5 minutes before the designated starting time. Your designated host for the session will wait no longer than 10 minutes for late-comers, after which it is fully the discretion of the designated host should they wish to consider you a no-show. If for any reason you are delayed and expect to arrive late for your HOP session, kindly inform us via phone or email.

Please note that the maximum number of guests per HOP is six persons. We reserve the right to offer any remaining spots in any given HOP to other guests, not exceeding the maximum limit of six.

Under special circumstances e.g. large families or extended families who wish to experience a HOP together, we will negotiate an arrangement that works for all parties. Please note that this may require an additional host, and may come under a different fee structure. In the event of a non-standard payment structure such as above, you will be informed of all fees before the HOP session is confirmed.

Booking fees and payments for confirmed HOPs are non-refundable. We reserve the right to terminate a HOP at any time in the event of, but not limited to, safety concerns to the host, drunkenness, illegal or dangerous behaviour, harassment, heckling, failure of guests to follow instructions and advice etc. Your host is there to make your experience a pleasant and memorable one. Please follow the instructions and advice of the host.
